  33.    Just because big business is stuffing us around, it doesn't mean we 
  34.   shouldn't continue to enjoy the computer, which is still doing the job
  35.   for us all in a way we like. Keep Megadisc going for the eventual buy-out
  36.   (which will happen sometime soon) - send in lots of contributions please,
  37.   and keep your favourite magazine interesting and fun to use. Megadisc is
  38.   for the contributors by the contributors, and I guess that means you!

  43.    It may be that you have a PC as a second machine, or use one at the
  44.   office. Don't forget that we can also supply all the hardware and software
  45.   you need for those machines too, at competitive prices. But we're not
  46.   going to produce a disk-mag for the PC - there's just not enough soul
  47.   in that computer platform for me to get enthusiastic!

  50. Megadisc's mail order

  52.    The paper inserts in this issue are a little old price-wise, so check out
  53.   the two Mail order files in MD_Info on Disk B for the latest in lists and
  54.   prices. Note also that there is no more Licenceware available as the UK
  55.   distributors felt that there was not enough business coming from Australia.

  60.    At Megadisc, we have developed a lot of skills related to publishing, 
  61.   magazine production, disk-based information and so on as you know. While
  62.   the Amiga's future is uncertain, we have to diversify and so I'm offering
  63.   a service to business in business documentation. By that I mean I can 
  64.   provide technical writing, proposals, manuals, pamphlets, and practically
  65.   any service related to small business running, including advice for small
  66.   or home-based businesses. So call and enquire if you could use any of 
  67.   those services. We're lean and we're mean.

  74.     Megadisc was produced on an Amiga A3000 with a Seagate Hard disk
  75.   and ASDG's Dual Serial Board & Syquest, and a couple of older Amigas
  76.   using a 8-Megabyte Ram expansion board from Phoenix
  77.   MicroTechnologies, 3.5" and 5.25" disk drives by Paul Chatfield,
  78.   Acudat disk-drives, Maestro Modem, AST TurboLaser and Epson 500.
  79.   Software used included "Professional Text Engine" by Zirkonics,
  80.   TxEd, SuperBase Professional by Precision Software, PowerPacker 4.0,
  81.   Deluxe Paint of course, and a great many excellent public domain
  82.   utilities by numerous talented authors, including local talent such
  83.   as Nic Wilson, Jon Potter and others.

  85.      Thanks also to sub-editor Steve Bolton for his various useful 
  86.   contributions to the process of putting Megadisc together. Leigh Murray
  87.   has also been a big help in various ways over the last two years. And
  88.   Steve Hudson has been a great help with sending it all out over the

  115.   unless expressly stated.  If you want to use anything from a
  116.   Megadisc for either commercial or non-commercial use, both copyright
  117.   laws and courtesy require that you call and ask permission, and
  118.   having got it, mention the source of the piece where it's used.

  120.   particular buyer of the disk.  Giving a copy of Megadisc to anyone
  121.   is illegal, and constitutes theft.

  124.     DUD DISKS
  125.  
  126.     Should anyone receive a disk from us at any time which does not
  127.   perform as it should, please send it straight back and it will be
  128.   immediately replaced - there are always a few dud disks in every
  129.   bunch, which you'll recognise by "Read/Write Errors" or the disk
  130.   icon showing as "DFx:BAD" or "DFx:NDOS".  Sometimes a disk may
  131.   appear to be bad, but isn't - the round metal hub in the middle of
  132.   the disk can sometimes get jammed against the edge of the plastic
  133.   surround.  Simply work it loose with your fingernail and you'll
  134.   often find it'll come good.  And finally, some disks work fine on
  135.   some drives but not others - try it on more than one drive.
